It has seemed like an eternity, but Demetris Robertson will finally reveal which college program he will take his talents to. After being undecided through Signing Day in February, he will announce his decision at 1 p.m. on Sunday at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta.

The 5-11, 175 pound Savannah, Ga., native is rated as a 5-star wide receiver and the No. 1 player at his position in the entire country in the class of 2016 according to 247 Sports. Because of this, Robertson was offered by pretty much every big time school in the nation. His final favorites are Georgia, Notre Dame, California, Georgia Tech and Stanford. His older brother even said Alabama is still a school to keep an eye on.

Stanford has seemed to be Robertson’s dream school, but he is not sure if he can get the SAT scores to be accepted. The Cardinal have seemed to fall by the wayside lately because of this.

Georgia seems to now be the team to beat to get Robertson’s signature. However, Georgia fans are not by any means confident of where Robertson will land.

He’s a different guy anyway and has taken the path less travelled by waiting months after signing day to pick a school and has academics as a top priority. But standing out from the rest can be a good thing, and it certainly is when it comes to Robertson’s talent. Robertson’s biggest strengths are his speed and athleticism. (Robertson was clocked at 4.34 seconds in the 40-yard dash.)

He lined up all over the field for Savannah Christian and excelled in everything he did. The guy is a dynamic playmaker who is a threat to take it to the house every time the elusive athlete touches the ball.

Robertson is versatile enough to play multiple positions on the next level. He will play wide receiver though if he does indeed decide to go to UGA. Kirby Smart recognizes the amazing talent that is Demetris Robertson,

“We need speed. He’s a really talented player that we’ve obviously recruited really hard. I’ve had a relationship with the kid since his ninth grade year. I recruited him at Alabama and then coming here and continued to recruit.”

Smart talked more specifically about Robertson’s role at Georgia,

“We think a lot of him, talent-wise. He actually at a time wanted to be a DB and sometimes he goes back and forth with that, but he is a talented, fast guy. A 10.4, 10.5, hundred-meter guy. Can really stretch the field and he’s a competitor now. They toss the ball to him in high school. He can get back there and do a lot of things that coach (Jim) Chaney used even at Pitt and Tennessee. He used guys a lot of ways to get them the ball. He’s a featured player.”

Robertson will be ready to make an impact right away no matter what school he chooses. It has certainly been a long road to finding out Robertson’s collegiate choice. It will all be clear on Sunday afternoon.
