Power ranking NFL Draft picks of UGA players
By Jay Hawkins
Bulldog fans didn’t have to wait long to see one of their own picked in the 2016 NFL Draft as outside linebacker Leonard Floyd was selected No. 9 overall by the Chicago Bears. Not only was Floyd the first Georgia player taken, but he was also the first SEC player selected.
Floyd has amazing potential and is a an outstanding athlete and can be a constant thorn in opposing quarterback’s sides. He was inconsistent at times at UGA but still manage to lead them in sacks each year he was in Athens.
NFL scouts love Floyd for his incredible upside, and if he adds a little weight and goes all in (the NFL paycheck helps), Floyd is set for a long and successful NFL career.

Overall, you would have to say the NFL Draft went well if you’re a Georgia Football fan. five UGA players were drafted including one in the top ten. Eight other players (Bailey, Morgan, Dawson, Mayes, Hicks, Ganus, Theus, Rome, and DeLoach) were signed as undrafted free agents.
Not only does it help recruiting to get that multiple players into the NFL for the Bulldogs, but it is also very cool to see your favorite college players make it to the next level. The draft clearly showed the opportunities available if you attend the University of Georgia.
