Keith Marshall hasn’t had the worst life after declaring for the NFL Draft after the 2015 season. He ran the fastest 40-yard dash at this year’s NFL Combine in Indianapolis with a 4.31 second time. Because of this, he won $50,000 from Adidas.

Then, he got drafted by the Washington Redskins in the seventh round. This week Marshall also signed a deal with Nike. Nike obviously saw how much potential Marshall has.

The former Georgia Football running back left UGA after an injury-plagued career in Athens. The Raleigh, N.C., native rushed for 1,379 yards during his collegiate career.

Marshall was the ultimate what could have been story. He could have done amazing things if he had not been hurt during most of his college years. If he stays healthy in the NFL, Marshall certainly has the speed and talent (and great strength) to do great things.

Pro Football Focus puts it best when analyzing Marshall,

“Keith Marshall is one of the more mentally advanced backs in college football because of his down field vision and ability to make defenders miss at any point when he has the ball. He challenges defenders to break down and technically tackle him. His feet are always moving and he never truly gets “stuck in the mud” when caught in a conjunction. Once he sees an open hole, he changes gears and hits full-speed with his great speed.”

Marshall had a tough career at UGA but looks to put that behind him and make his mark in the NFL. Nike saw Marshall’s upside and inked him. It’s safe to say Keith Marshall’s in a pretty good mood right now.
