Let’s be honest, Aaron Murray is a great human being. He’s arguably one of the most loved and popular former Georgia Football players in recent years. He made headlines this week in his decision to hold a youth camp in Macon, Ga.
The camp will be held on June 25 at Statford Academy and provide 50+ scholarships to children who could otherwise not afford to attend. Murray was inspired to hold this camp because of an interaction at a past camp,
“We were doing one-on-one drills and one kid — he was maybe 5 or 6 — tripped and fell. Like any young kid, he was embarrassed and started crying. So I took him to the side and tossed passes to him. He got his spirits up and jumped right back in line,” said Murray in an interview with the Macon Telegraph.
Murray wants to use this camp to not only teach football but also give life lessons as well. Murray wants to communicate that someone’s actions off the field are just as important as on.
“Being a good person will take you far.”
Murray has had a history of mirroring his statement and has the respect of many people. No doubt, he has the respect of many kids and athletes of any age as well.
After all, Murray had a truly outstanding career at the University of Georgia as he finished his career as arguably the most accomplished quarterback in the history of the Southeastern Conference. Just look at the records he holds. He has thrown for the most yards and had the most completions, passing touchdowns and total yards period in the SEC.

The quarterback has had a fine career thus far, and we’ll see if he can develop into an NFL starting quarterback one day. (He’s fighting to be the No. 2 QB for the Chiefs this year).
The signal caller decided to take some time out of his schedule to give back to the state of Georgia. Hopefully, the kids will learn to be more like Murray not only on the football field but off it as well.
