Top 5: Georgia football’s most likely offensive breakout performers
Ben Cleveland
Jacob Eason was the headliner of the recruiting class of 2016, but Ben Cleveland (among others) was a fine opening act.
The 6-foot-6, 345 pounder from Toccoa should receive a good bit of playing time this season. He’s only a freshman, but it’s not like Georgia has a bevy of juniors and seniors to place on the offensive line. Cleveland is one of the Bulldogs’ best options.

Cleveland was rated a four-star recruit by 247 Sports and was widely considered one of the best offensive linemen in the country. Though he expressed his loyalty to Georgia back in 2014, Cleveland was wooed by the likes of Michigan, Florida State, Texas and Alabama. They all wanted “Big Country” on their team, but the Bulldogs ultimately won out.
Georgia will most likely need Cleveland to quickly prove his hype legitimate. The Bulldogs open the season with a string of tough opponents, as they’ll face North Carolina, Missouri, Ole Miss and Tennessee all within the first five weeks of the season.
Cleveland – and the rest of Georgia’s young offensive line – will have his hands full early, giving him a great opportunity to make a name for himself in red and black.
