I know, I know. Lorenzo Carter was a big-time recruit who came to Athens with a lot of notoriety, and he’s already had one big season with the Bulldogs.

But last year was a bad one for Carter. He seemed healthy all season long, but didn’t play nearly as much as he did during his impressive freshman season. And when he did play, he didn’t contribute much.

As it stands right now, Carter was simply a flash in the pan who became overshadowed by Leonard Floyd and Jordan Jenkins. They’re gone now, and that should give Carter more chances to see the field and make his presence felt. It helps, too, that most of last year’s coaching staff, which arguably mishandled the talented Carter, has been replaced.

Carter will be one of Georgia’s featured linebackers in 2016. The junior, who recorded just 19 tackles last season after making 41 the year before, will have the opportunity to shine.
