Georgia Football flips 3-star defensive tackle from South Carolina

Georgia Football’s 2017 class just got a little better.

Kirby Smart’s coaching staff continued their recruiting momentum on Monday when 6-4, 300 pound defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt committed to Georgia’s 2017 class.
Wyatt, a three-star prospect out of Towers High School in Decatur, Ga., flipped his commitment to UGA after previously being committed to South Carolina. Wyatt is ranked as the nation’s 34th defensive tackle for 2017, via 247Sports.
Wyatt has shown to be a versatile player during his high school career, playing on offense at tight end and accumulating time on special teams in addition to starring at his regular defensive tackle position.
On tape, Wyatt continues to show off his variety of skill sets, which include utilizing his large body to clog the run and using his speed to close on ball carriers or quarterbacks.

The Georgia native becomes the second defensive lineman to commit to the Bulldogs for the 2017 class, as highly touted 5-star defensive end Robert Beal committed to the Georgia back in July.
Aside from the Gamecocks, Wyatt had also drawn interest from North Carolina State, Oregon State and South Florida according to 247Sports.
Kirby Smart’s staff continues to dominate the recruiting trails inside the state of Georgia, as Wyatt is the eleventh recruit from the state that has committed to the Dawgs for 2017. Georgia’s recruiting class remains one of the nation’s most elite groups, clocking in at No. 4 overall behind Ohio State, Alabama, and LSU according to 247Sports.
The addition of Wyatt is great, but Kirby Smart and Co. are far from done with their class of 2017 recruiting efforts.
