The Georgia Football quarterback question has been answered for now.

It was announced yesterday by sources with knowledge of the situation that Greyson Lambert would get the starting nod at quarterback on Saturday in the 2016 Chick-Fil-A Kickoff Game against North Carolina according to Dawg Nation.
Kirby Smart ultimately decided to go with the experienced guy at quarterback over freshman phenom Jacob Eason. It is unknown if Eason will get in the game or not at this point, but I personally would be surprised if he did not.
The decision by Smart to start Lambert was probably the wise one. Even though Lambert is not a great quarterback, he is a pretty good game manager and rarely turns the ball over. Combine that with having Nick Chubb and others in the backfield to make the job easier especially against UNC’s horrid run defense and Jacob Eason being young and therefore mistake-prone, and it was probably the best move in the long run.
Lambert has a ton of experience as aforementioned. He was the starting quarterback in almost every game in 2015 and threw for nearly 2,000 yards and twelve touchdowns with only two interceptions.

Blue-chip high school quarterback Jacob Eason came in with all the hype and was and still is the fan favorite. However, Smart obviously did not want to throw him onto this big stage right away in his first collegiate game. Rarely do true freshman start their first year, let alone their first game.
I see Kirby Smart and offensive coordinator Jim Chaney easing Eason in to the QB role slowly similar to how Clemson handled Deshaun Watson in his freshman year. While Eason is the future of the program, the coaching staff did not want to hand him the keys just yet.
