That’s right. Yesterday, one of the Class of 2017’s top running backs in D’Andre Swift committed to the University of Georgia. He became the 15th commit of UGA’s 2017 class that now ranks No. 4 in the country according to 247 Sports.
Swift hails from St. Joseph’s High School in Philadelphia, Penn., and is a 4-star running back who is No. 4 at his position and the top prospect in his state according to 247 Sports. (If you want to see his awesome commitment video, you can see it here.)
Swift definitely lives up to his name as he is extremely fast and elusive. (He has been clocked at 4.43 seconds in the 40-yard dash). Last season, Swift rushed for 1,035 yards on 165 carries and twelve touchdowns with an average of 6.2 yards per carry.
Swift joins fellow 4-star Toneil Carter from Houston as Georgia’s other blue-chip commit at running back for 2017. Georgia is in good shape at running back for not only the 2017 class but for the 2017 season period.
I believer either Nick Chubb or Sony Michel will come back for their respective senior seasons. Obviously, Elijah Holyfield will be back for his sophomore season, and he promises to be an excellent back. Brian Herrien, Tae Crowder and others will be back to add additional depth.

Georgia has to feel really good about the state of their running back position. New running backs coach Del McGee has landed two star-studded prospects with only months on the job. The landing of Carter and most recently Swift will go a long way to determine the success of the Bulldogs in the future.
