Georgia Football: Current commits fans should be most excited for
The regular season is finished and now Georgia football head coach Kirby Smart can focus more on recruiting for the 2017 class.

Georgia football was very young in 2016 at most positions. And that may equate to more experience and maturity in 2017, but there are still spots that the 2017 recruiting class can fill.
So here are a few commitments from Georgia football’s 2017 class that fans should be excited to see arrive in Athens and earn some immediate playing time.
Andrew Thomas and Netori Johnson
It’s no secret that Georgia’s offensive line has been sub-par in 2016, but help is on the way in the form of no. 11 offensive tackle Andrew Thomas and no. 5 offensive guard Netori Johnson.
There are more offensive line commits for Georgia (D’Antne Demery and Justin Shaffer), but Thomas and Johnson are the top two.
I speculated a few days ago in the What Kind of Team Will Georgia have in 2017 article that the reason Ben Cleveland hasn’t seen the field this season is because Georgia might be wanting to start 2017 with an almost clean slate of the offensive line. Thomas and Johnson are the main reason why I believe that.
Georgia’s offensive line in 2017 will be a new unit and inexperienced unit. But with Cleveland and the addition of Thomas and Johnson, there will be no shortage of talent and potential.
Jeremiah Holloman, Mark Webb and Trey Blount
Georgia’s current group of receivers is okay. Isaiah McKenzie and Terry Godwin are good play makers and they’ll be the leaders of the group next year as upper-classmen. Then there’s transfer Javon Wims who has been playing more and more as the 2016 season has progressed. And finally freshman Riley Ridley who might be the most talented in the group.
But besides them, no one else has stepped up. Micheal Chigbu has a bad habit of dropping passes. Jayson Stanley has not been targeted by Jacob Eason. And the jury is still out on freshman Tyler Simmons who began seeing the field a lot on November. But Georgia’s current group of receivers is nothing like the groups they had from the mid-2000’s to the early 2010’s.

But three receivers are on the way that should change that. They are no. 19 Jeremiah Holloman, no. 20 Mark Webb and no. 37 Trey Blount. All three of them are similar guys, all around the 6’2 200 pound range. And they are each among the best receivers in the 2017 recruiting class.
Add them to the group of McKenzie, Godwin, Wims and Ridley, and Georgia will once again have one of the best group of wide receivers in the SEC.
