Regular Season Schedule Breakdown

Georgia has six home games in 2017; Appalachian State, Samford, Mississippi State, Missouri, South Carolina and Kentucky. Then five road games; Notre Dame, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Auburn and Georgia Tech. And finally the game against Florida in Jacksonville.

The 2017 schedule right now seems to be a much easier schedule than 2016. We replace Ole Miss who was really strong at the time with Mississippi State who is back to their pre-Dak Prescott selves. Notre Dame and North Carolina are pretty much interchangeable.

But there is this sense that Tennessee squandered their chance in 2016 and that program is going to spend the summer trying to keep a mini-crisis from becoming a major one.  Florida is also a team that may have missed their chance to take over the East. Their 2017 recruiting class is not as good as what you would expect from Florida. Therefore we can assume that the offense will not improve and that the defensive may even take a step back.

Will Muschamp has South Carolina playing better but he still needs another year to get them back to what they were in the early 2010’s. As for the rest of the SEC schedule, you know what to expect from Vanderbilt, Kentucky, Missouri and Auburn. They’ll all put up fights with Auburn being the one with the best chance to win as they should compete for the SEC West in 2017.
