Football off-season.  The time of year when all of us hardcore Georgia Bulldogs fans spend most of our free time trying to maintain sanity.

It’s not just the off season that’s hurting Georgia Bulldogs fans, but the basketball season is coming to an end as well. If you’re like me, you are about to be dealing with a lot of emotions. Rough times are coming.  But don’t worry ,fellow Dawg people……ol Mike has come up with a list of a few things that will help you cruise on through till September instead of ending up in a corner rocking back and forth saying “I MISS FOOTBALL, I MISS FOOTBALL, I MISS FOOTBALL!!”.

#1 . Find another sport to follow.

For me, it’s basketball. Pro and college. March is a great month with the tournament and brackets. The NBA lasts until June. That has a big chunk of your off-season filled with something else that at least is some type of competition.  If you don’t like basketball,  follow baseball, golf ,hockey, or Nascar. If you can’t get into any of them, pick a favorite competitive eater to cheer for and cheer him on as he eats his way towards July 4th and the Hot dog eating contest. Anything that keeps your mind off of the fact that Georgia vs. Appalachian State is a LONG ways away is good.

#2 . Find a hobby.

Fishing, golf, and exercise are all things that keep your football obsessed mind occupied. If you can somehow do all 3, you’ll cast, putt, and run your way all the way through until fall. Don’t try them all at once unless you’re a great multitasker though. I don’t want to be held responsible for a mad person running in a track suit from pond to pond on a golf course while holding a fishing rod in one hand and a driver in the other.

#3. Politics only makes it worse.

This one is more of a tip on how to not drive yourself even more mad. Don’t try to fill that void left in you with arguments about politics.  All that will do is drive your blood pressure up and make the off-season drag by that much slower.

#4. Alcohol.

This is, of course , a last resort.  You really don’t want to have to use beer and /or bourbon to cope with this. But desperate times cause for desperate measures. If a 6 pack and a shot or two will help you think that football game on ESPN classic is live, that’s a good thing ,right?

#5 . Keep a positive attitude.

This one is probably the most important  Keep saying things like, “It’ll be here before you know it” and “These 7 months are going to fly by”. Think glass half full and before ya know it yours will be…..with your favorite game day beverage as you get ready to watch the Dawgs.
