Just a few days after being named to the All-SEC team, Georgia basketball star Yante Maten had more good news. Yante Maten joined J.J. Fraizer as Georgia was one of two schools to place two players in the first team All-SEC team.

Georgia then announced today that they expected him to return for the bulldogs in the SEC tournament. According to Seth Emerson of Dawgnation.com, Coach Mark Fox said the following of his star forward:

"“Barring any setback overnight, we hope to have him play. Obviously we don’t need a setback overnight, any swelling or anything like that. But he’s continued to make progress and it’s good to see him out there.”"

While it’s not known exactly how much Maten will be able to play, his presence on the floor should be a real boost for the bulldogs. J.J. Fraizer led UGA to several impressive wins in Maten’s absence. However having one of the SEC’s most effective weapons back, even if it’s just in a bench role could be huge for Georgia.
