1st Half

The Georgia basketball team welcomed Yante Maten back to the team for the tournament. He made his much anticipated return at the 17:34 mark in the 1st half. His presence was felt immediately when he lined up a straight away 3 in his first offensive possession back. Neither team could really get into a groove as it was a low scoring half. Both teams shot below 40% and Georgia had 10 turnovers. Tennessee lead at the half 27-26. Frazier and Maten lead the way for the Dawgs with 7 points apiece. Turner lead Tennessee with 9.

2nd Half

The second half of this game is what March is all about. Both teams made big shot after big shot as the game went back and forth. Georgia slowed the tempo and dictated the second half with their style of play. Jordan Bone of Tennessee had a great second half and ended up with 14 points on the game. In the end though, it was J.J. Frazier who took over at the end to give the Dawgs a 59-57 victory, and a date with Kentucky. The Dawgs defense was the key to this win, holding Tennessee to 33% shooting from the field.

Player of the Game

As they say, legends are made in March. The game clinching block, with 1:09 left, by the 5’10 J.J. Frazier might have been his legendary moment. Frazier ended with a double-double. He had 17 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists.
