The Georgia Bulldogs got another big time commitment for the 2019 class, WR Jadon Haselwood.

Kirby Smart and the Georgia Bulldogs seem to be getting the 2019 recruiting process started early. They already had 3 commitments for that class, the same number they had for 2018 and they just added 1 more.

Jadon Haselwood is ranked as the #10 overall player in the country in 2019 and last night, he committed to UGA. The #2 overall wide receiver in his class released a video of his decision through the Dawgnation website that can be found here. He also gave several insights into his decision to Dawgnation reporter Jeff Sentell:

"“I wanted to hurry up and get this process over with. I’m just stuck on Georgia. That’s where I want to be. I know that’s the place for me. The relationship I have with Coach Smart shows me why I need to be at Georgia ever time I see him. We never talk about the same stuff. When I go on other visits, it seems like all the other coaches always talk about the same stuff with me. Not with Coach Smart. We catch up on life. Every time I go to Athens and see Coach Smart it is a good convo. It just seems like talking to family.”"

Who is Jadon Haselwood?

Haselwood has been trending for UGA since the new year.  Although he recently visited Ohio State, he said in a commitment interview, that he’s been set on UGA since January. He was part of the True 19 game where the best sophomores from Georgia played Texas and really enjoyed his time at UGA. Haselwood also played with two 2017 commitments, Netori Johnson and Justin Schaffer in high school. The Georgia native tweeted out the following picture during a visit to Athens in February:

This is a huge get for the Bulldogs. Already 6-3 despite being just 15 years old, Haselwood is a unique talent. He combines that size with a unique smoothness than reminds some of the great AJ Green. While nobody wan’t to put too much on a kids still in his sophomore year, there’s no doubt he could be a special player for the dawgs.

Where do the Dawg’s go next?

What’s even more exciting is that UGA is really doing well with a loaded 2019 class. Haselwood told Rivals Chad Simmons that he was going to go after at least 3 more 5-stars in an interview after his decision:

"“I am on Jashawn Sheffield, Jaylen McCullough, Owen Pappoe and those type of guys in the 2019 class already.’ Haselwood said ‘I am telling them to come be a Dawg at UGA. I let them know about the coaches and I just keep it real with them the way it was kept real with me.”"

With Haselwood and 5-star Nolan Smith II also working hard on the 2019 class, there’s a real chance that particular year could be special for bulldog fans. 2019 might be the most talented year for Georgia high school talent in a long time. If Kirby can close the boarders like they did in 2017, they might secure that rare #1 overall class.
