3. Brice Hunter

Andre Hastings was first in the line of great Georgia Bulldog wide receivers. But he was followed by someone who would arguably be the best receiver in school history at that point: Brice Hunter.

Hunter’s career began in 1992 a few steps down the wide receiver hierarchy which was lead by the aforementioned Hastings. That year he only played in nine games and caught only three passes for 30 yards.

But his next year is still one of the greatest if not the greatest in school history. His record of 76 receptions still stands and no one has gotten all that close since. He accumulated 970 yards that year which broke Hastings record set a year earlier. Hunter scored nine touchdowns that season which was also a school record that has only been passed once (1 by Terrence Edwards in 2002) and tied four times.

Next year was not as spectacular for Hunter, he caught only 59 passes that year which is still second in school history. He added 799 yards that year with seven touchdowns. His last year in 1995 saw him catch 44 passes for 574 yards with three touchdowns.

Hunter ended his time in Athens with a school record 2,373 yards, he has since fallen to fifth in Georgia football history. His 182 receptions was also a school record and is still second in school history. And Hunter’s 19 touchdowns shattered the school record and is currently sixth all-time.

If we do a top 10 wide receivers in school history list in the future, expect to see Brice Hunter very high on that list as well.
