Another position group that needs to see improvement in 2017. Wide Receiver was another position that needs upgrading from last year. Even with Isaiah Mckenzie on the roster, this was still a sub par position group and with him gone, it looks somewhat short of weapons.

Riley Ridley’s recent arrest has hung a cloud over a player many were hoping would be UGA’s #1 receiver in 2017. He will have the opportunity to battle for the top spot in Spring and it will be interesting to see how he looks in practice. Fans should be hoping he’d able to put that incident and several injuries in 2016 behind him. If he does, he could win that top spot even though he will likely miss game 1.

Terry Godwin is a player many were expecting to break out last year but it just never quite happened. In many ways, his best roles comes in that same slot role that Mckenzie played so well in 2016. If another player can come on and take an outside role, it could free Godwin up to take over the slot and hopefully become the play maker his 5-star rating originally suggested he could be.

Trying to take that outside spot will be Javon Wims and J.J. Holloman. Two very different players at different stages of their career, both look like natural outside threats. Hollomans speed is impressive and as with all the early enrolles, it will be exciting to see if he can win an early position battle.
