9. 1992 vs. Florida

Another game on here for its historical significance. In 1992, South Carolina and Arkansas joined the SEC, bringing the conference to a total of 12 teams. The SEC split into east and west divisions and started the SEC Championship Game.

Georgia and Florida both finished the regular season 6-2 in the SEC that year but a 26-24 loss to the Gators sent them to the SEC Championship game while the Bulldogs watched at home. Georgia ended the season with a better overall record however, 10-2 compared to Florida’s 9-4.

But if the Bulldogs had just beaten Florida, Ray Goff’s Bulldogs could have made history as the first SEC East Champions. And who knows, with a win over Alabama in the SEC Championship game, the Bulldogs would have been 11-1 and could have possibly played for a National Championship against Miami in the Sugar Bowl.
