Dominick Sanders has a ‘very critical’ injury in 2016.
Seth Emerson of Dawgnation.com reported this weekend that senior safety Dominick Sanders played most of last season with an injury. Many were wondering why his production was down from his sophomore year and a hurt shoulder likely contributed. Sanders showed serious toughness continuing to play for the rest of the season and despite being in serious pain, played in all of UGA’s games.
Some of his quotes to Emerson included:
"“Throughout the season it was throbbing, it was bad. Sometimes it got out of place. But I told coach, I’m going to play regardless. I’m not worried about the shoulder. I don’t want to see a doctor.”"
"Sanders later added that the shoulder injury was “very critical, it was to a point where they didn’t want me to play.” But he told coaches that it would require surgery for him to not play, “until they knock (the shoulder) out of place or until it’s hanging.”"
"“Every tackle I was making with that shoulder I made a noise every time,” Sanders said. “But I just told myself that I’m not seeing no doctor. I’m going to keep playing.”"
….. Ouch! Playing in this sort of pain pretty much sums up the kind of leader Sanders is to this team. Hopefully hes able to avoid the injury bug in 2017 and finishes off his UGA career with his best season yet.
