According to Jake Rowe at 247Sports, UGA has hired a new Strength and Conditioning Assistant. Jamil Walker is joining the Bulldogs from Wisconsin which is considered to have one of the top strength programs in the Big 10.

Walker played at Wisconsin until 2008 and was highly successful during his time as a player. He was a part of a senior class that went 40-11 during their time in Madison. After graduating, he joined the strength program and has developed a long line of NFL talents including JJ Watt, Melvin Gordon and Multiple first round offensive linemen.

This is another example of Kirby Smart trying to push the envelope a bit more and try and get an edge wherever he can. Beefing up UGA’s strength program with some new talent who has worked in a highly successful program should really help the players continue to physically.
