In Georgia football’s long history, the Bulldogs have had some great offenses. But never was Georgia’s offense better than in the four years with Aaron Murray as quarterback. In those four years, Georgia scored 1,875 points, Murray accounted for 828 of those points.
Of course, as quarterback, Murray was the catalyst of that offensive success. And no one else in school history as accounted for more touchdowns than Murray. In four seasons, Murray passed for 121 touchdowns and ran for another 16 for a total of 138.
In 2011, Murray shattered the school record for touchdown passes (35) and total touchdowns (37) in a season. And then he broke the records again in 2012 with 36 touchdown passes and 39 total touchdowns.
Georgia won the SEC Eastern Division in both of those seasons. During Murray’s time at Georgia, they averaged 34.72 which is the most in a four-year stretch in school history.

It’s a hard topic to judge, who the best scorer in Georgia history is. But for my money, it’s Aaron Murray. In football, especially in pro-style offenses, the offense revolves around the quarterback. From 2010-to-2013, Georgia had the best offense in school history and Murray was the quarterback.
