Criteria

But how do you judge who was better at scoring across several sports? Well, points in relation to the amount of games is one factor. The importance of a single point in a particular sport. For instance, averaging one run a game in baseball is a lot better than averaging two points a game in basketball.

From there, we created criteria to reach for each sport:

Football

Either crossing the goal line or completing a pass across the goal line.

Basketball

Making field goals, but assists will also be considered

Baseball and Softball

Runs scored and runs batted in where both combined. It’s one thing to cross home plate a bunch of times, but you also need to be able to bring in runners with your bat.

Gymnastics

Total points.

Soccer

Goals and assists.
