8. Dominique Wilkins – Men’s Basketball

No one in Georgia basketball history was more dominant that “The Human Highlight Film” Dominique Wilkins.

Wilkins is fourth in school history with 1,688, but the three players ahead of him played four seasons at Georgia while Wilkins only played three. Given the fact that Wilkins has the top two spots in school history for points in a season with 732 in 1980-81 and 659 in 1981-82, it’s more than likely that Wilkins would have the school record for career points.

Much like a women’s basketball player we’ll see later on this list, Wilkins helped make Georgia basketball relevant in the early 1980’s. After never having much success and never making a post season tournament, Wilkins led the Bulldogs to the National Invitational Tournament twice.
