Georgia Basketball: 2018 class prospects likely to commit to the G.
Point Guard: Drue Drinnon
I actually got the chance to watch Drinnon a lot his freshman year. He played two years at East Jackson High School where I covered him for a newspaper I wrote for at the time. So I’m not embellishing when I say he was the best freshman I’ve ever watched.
Well he’s no longer a freshman or at East Jackson. Drinnon is going into his senior season at Pebblebrook High School.
247 Sports pegs Drinnon as the no. 111 player in America, the no. 24 point guard and the no. 9 player in the state of Georgia. Drinnin isn’t known for his size at 6’0 and 165 pounds, but well, neither was J.J. Frazier and we all know how he turned out.
Frazier was also the no. 9 player in the state of Georgia, but Drinnon is ranked higher nationally and among point guards. Drinnon has the same skill set as Frazier as well, he’s a shooter that can drive the lane and is also a distributor.
Since his sophomore year, 247 Sports has been predicting Drinnon to sign with Georgia but other schools are in the mix such as Wake Forest, Florida, Ole Miss and Georgia Tech.
