Trey Dean is a safety out of Dutchtown GA. He’s an interesting player because his rankings don’t seem to run alongside the type of schools pushing to sign him. Despite being only the 23rd ranked safety in the country, he currently has offers from Alabama, Michagin and Notre Dame alongside Georgia and 28 other programs. That’s not the kind of list someone that someone just inside the top 300 players in the nation tends to build up.

His official hudl page has some very impressive highlights from his Junior year and when you watch them, you can understand why he has so many offers. He might play in a smaller town, his talent is pretty undeniable. He makes plenty of splash plays and seems like the blueprint of a hard-hitting ball-hawking safety.

While UGA recruited a lot of talent at safety in 2017, they could certainly find space for Dean. Richard LeCounte, DeAngelo Gibbs and Tray Bishop are all very talented. But Dean, like LeCounte has played safety for a lot longer than the later two. He will not be learning the position when he heads to college and he could really push for playing time. With Dominick Sanders leaving after the 2017 season, Dean would bring real competition to the DB room.
