8 A.M. – I wake up . Go clean up, brush my teeth, and check on the fam. I’m not a morning person by the way,  so it takes my brain longer to completely wake up than it does my body. It takes a few minutes for my noggin to catch up and realize that this is another Saturday without Georgia Football. When it hits me, I shut back down.

8:30 A.M.- I go back to sleep.  Maybe this is due to laziness. Maybe I’m just not ready to face the day quite yet. Somewhere in the back of my mind though, I think I may be hoping that I’ll go back to sleep and when I wake up again , it will be September.

9:00 A.M. – Second wake up.  After going back to sleep and dreaming a little bit about fall and tailgating , I wake up feeling refreshed. I flip on the tv. Within 30 seconds,  I realize College Gameday isn’t on. Back to sleep.

10:00 A.M.- I finally get up. Get breakfast,  straighten up around the house, and then turn the tv back on. Still no College Gameday.  I walk outside. It’s an absolutely GORGEOUS day. I think to myself “What a great day for college football.” But then ,I remember…

12:00 P.M.- I think about what games would be kicking off right now if football season were here.

3:30 P.M.- This is the time the SEC game of the week would be kicking off if it were football season.  I’m inconsolable during this time. Just steer clear.

6:00 P.M.- I say to my lovely wife , ” You know what? I sure do miss football.” “I know, hun.” she responds.  “I heard you the first 7 times today you said that.”

8:00 P.M.- Prime time! Still no football. Meh.

8:00 P.M. till 11 or 12 ish-The rest of the evening pretty much consists of me either talking or writing about football until I get sleepy. G Day is almost here. That’s good. But after that, the long, cruel summer wait begins. I’m going to make it though. I drift off to dream about Fall Saturdays in the South . I’ll probably wake up tomorrow and before I completely wake up mentally think to myself,  “Hey I wonder what good NFL games are on today?” Sigh.  What is it they say ? “It’s not an obsession , it’s a way of life?” Go Dawgs .
