Texas is one of the most iconic programs in football. Those longhorns are as memorable as Uga himself and I love watching big programs like Georgia and Texas clash. These two teams have only played each other 4 times and so far, Texas has a 3-1 record against the dawgs.

More from Dawn of the Dawg

The two teams have not met since 1984, a game that Georgia won 10-9 and it would be great to see that change soon. The Longhorns have been down for a while after the Charlie Strong experiment and new coach Tom Hermans is a proven winner. It’s always best to watch these games when both programs are great and hopefully that would be the case if they met in the future.

With the playoffs now a reality, there’s an increased chance that this matchup could happen if both teams win their conference. The SEC and Big-12 will almost always send a champion to the big dance. A home-and-home would also be exciting as UGA could really work the state of Texas in recruiting if they went down there.
