There’s just something about UCLA that I just love. Maybe is their uniforms that seem iconic, maybe its the fact that they’ve never dominated so you don’t feel like a glory supporter. Maybe its the fact that former Atlanta Falcons coach Jim Mora Jr just always seems so damn likable.

Fortunately, I’m going to get to see these two teams play each other soon…ish. UGA and UCLA agreed to a home-and-home for 2025 and 2026. The SEC and Pac-12 are very different leagues an I’m always interested in how those styles compare. Both teams will be very very different when that time comes, but I’m really hoping both coaches have been successful enough to still be there. Smart vs Mora sounds exciting to me.

I also think that this could be another game that great for recruiting. While I don’t expect UGA to become a recruiting power on the west coast, I’d love to see Georgia poach a talent or two from California. There’s an incredible amount of talent out there and playing UCLA would give them exposure to the dawgs. I like it when programs use games like this to get better and I think UGA could really do that.
