Georgia Football: 3 Teams I want to see UGA play
Clemson
(Disclaimer: I hate Clemson)
This one is personal. It’s not just that Clemson happen to be the national champions. It’s that ever since Dabo Swinney took over in Death Valley, they have become a thorn in UGA’s side. In 2013, they beat us 38-35 in the first game of the year. That set up an incredibly disappointing season that should have been when we took that next step. Instead, we fell flat on our faces after the heart break of the 2012 SEC championship game.
Ever since that day, Clemson have been on the up and UGA it seems have been on the down. They’ve won 2 straight ACC championships and had the confetti fall on them this January. Georgia has been toiling in second rate bowl games and never even sniffed the SEC East.
To make matters worse, they’ve become one if UGA’s biggest recruiting rivals. Not only did they poach Deshaun Watson from out of Gainsville, they just took the #1 overall player for 2018 out of Georgia in QB Trevor Lawrence. This has become the kind of relationship that is far too one sided, with Clemson winning on the field and off it against UGA time and again. And they’re doing this while wearing some of the most awful uniforms in college football! Seriously, orange and purple… It just baffles the mind that anybody wants to look like a tangerine with a tiger paw on their helmet.
(Another Disclaimer: I still hate Clemson)
Enough is enough. It’s time for Georgia to change the script and the place to do that is on the field. I don’t want to beat them in a regular season game. I want to beat them in the playoffs. Take them down on the biggest stage possible and show the rest of college football that normal order has been restored. Also, maybe take down their suddenly increasingly loud fan-base down just a notch or two. I’ve had enough of them saying ‘the ACC is the new power conference’. It’s become very annoying.

They always say to be the best, you have to beat the best. Well its time for UGA to do that and take back their pride from a program that has slighted us far too much recently.
