2. Ohio State Buckeyes

What is there for a Georgia fan to like about

The

Ohio State University football team? Their head coach is Urban Meyer. They claim to be the true National Champions of 1942 despite only winning nine games and not even playing in a bowl game. Know one else can win two Heisman Trophy’s because apparently only Archie Griffin was good enough to do so (sarcasm).

More from Dawn of the Dawg

Is their a team that is easier for Georgia fans to dislike. And it’s not like we have a reason to feel inferior. The Bulldogs did win the only meeting between the two teams in the 1993 Citrus Bowl.

But I want Ohio State. You want Ohio State. Your grandfather wants Ohio State. Your cat wants Ohio State. And your unborn child wants Ohio State. In Athens, Columbus, Atlanta, Orlando, Pasadena, Miami, New Orleans, Houston, it doesn’t matter.

The thing is, Georgia was actually supposed to have a home-and-home against Ohio State in 2020. But the Buckeyes backed out after the Big 10/Pac 12 Series (which begins this season) was announced. Ohio State claimed that they did not want to risk playing a tough SEC and Pac 12 team in 2020 or 2021.

But Georgia still scheduled them knowing full well that Georgia Tech could be a great team in 2020 and 2021. So a regular season game with them is now very unlikely. That means we just have to hope we can get paired with them in a bowl game.

Which could very well happen. Several bowls including the Citrus and Outback pair the SEC and Big 10 together. Georgia has played in nine SEC vs Big 10 Bowl games in the past 20 years, but only five unique teams.

Here’s to hoping that if Georgia doesn’t make a New Years Six bowl this year, Ohio State loses a couple so we can get those Buckeyes in either the Citrus or Outback Bowl.
