How can Fromm challenge the starter?

One thing that stands out on film is that Fromm appears to be more mobile . There were quite a few times last year that Eason looked uncomfortable in the pocket (when he actually had one) . Being able to move easier in the pocket obviously helps a young QB who is trying to escape the pass rush , and Eason isn’t the most mobile quarterback out there.

These are a few reasons why some fans make think there is a “quarterback controversy” in Athens this year.  News flash,  Dawg fans…..there isn’t.  Eason will start Game 1 and if he avoids injury , it will remain his spot. Word coming out of practice is that Eason is much improved. His mechanics, his confidence in his long passes, and his leadership abilities will all improve in year 2. He has a year of SEC experience under his belt and that’s going to help a ton this season.

He will be behind a stouter offensive line that, while still young, should be much improved from 2016. Eason put up pretty good numbers behind the 2016 line as a freshman, and he showed glimpses of greatness at the ends of the Missouri and Tennessee games. He will put up great numbers behind this line in 2017. If the Dawgs win the SEC East  (which I believe they will) Eason’s stellar QB play will be a huge reason for it.
