What recruits were in Athens this weekend?

In short, quite a few! Like most weeks, UGA had several recruits in town this weekend although few of them were household names. With G-day next week, that is likely when the cream of the crop should be in town. Instead, this weekend focused on several lesser known prospects from the 2018/19/20 classes.

A lesser known prospect (thats going to be a theme), Wright is an explosive RB from the 2019 class. He plays at a lower level in high school, but the athletism is real. It’s still too early to know what he’ll look like down the line and he doesn’t have an offer yet. However, UGA is doing its due diligence on a player who could be a surprise on Saturdays.

Scott is another freak athlete who has not got much attention on the national circuit. A player who has put together a solid basketball and football career at his high school, he offers real talent in both sports. He stands at 6-3 with explosive speed. He’s part of the 2018 recruiting class.

A smaller running back, Smalls currently has offers from App State and Mercer. Whether he would ever get an offer from Georgia or not, he should be intriguing. He’s kind of like a running back version of Stetson Bennett IV who will walk on at UGA next year. A talented player who UGA will encourage to come to Athens and push for a scholarship.
