Georgia Bulldogs: Easter Monday Morning Recap
Spring Training Injuries from this past week:
While there seemed to have been many positives to take out of spring training this week, there were a few concerns. Seth Emerson of Dawgnation.com reported that several big names were limited in training this week.
Starting tight end Isaac Nauta ‘dinged his shoulder’ according to Emerson on Saturday. He was going to get X-rays on it this weekend and hopefully he should be fit to play in the spring game. Nauta had a solid freshman season and many believe he’s poised to breakout in 2017. Having him fit and healthy to develop familiarity for the quarterbacks is important for the offense.
DeAngelo Gibbs, the freshman defensive back also hurt his shoulder. He is considered day-to-day and should be back for the game. Gibbs has been playing a lot at the Star position vacated by Maurice Smith in practices. His size and speed are impressive and he like he could be an impact player in 2017.
Finally, offensive linemen Ben Cleveland was held out of scrimmage for an undisclosed injury on Saturday. Cleveland has pushed himself into the second team this past week so hopefully he can get back soon.
