Georgia Bulldogs: Monday Morning Recap
UGA Commitment flips to LSU
G-day started pretty badly for UGA. Their 2018 class dropped down to just one commitment when Adam Anderson, the OLB from Rome flipped to LSU alongside two other players from that school. This was a pretty big surprise for everyone involved. He never decommited to UGA and all three were only offered by LSU the day before.
It’s certainly a blow. Anderson is rated just outside the nations top 100 players and is the #4 OLB. That it was also done a couple of hours before G-day made it feel even worse. We don’t know if he spoke to UGA coaches before, but to me, the whole thing just sits very badly. To surprisingly flip, on the day the school you are committed to has it’s biggest recruiting showcase is pretty poor form, especially if you never even informed them.
Maybe he spoke to them and was pushed into doing it on Saturday by the LSU staff who wanted to stick it to a rival. Maybe he was so caught up in the dream of playing with his current high school friends, he got swept away with everything. Or maybe the UGA staff had already moved on from him, in which case, he’s totally inclined to get them back. But to me, it kind of just felt like a pretty poor way to behave towards a school and group of people he has been committed to for a while.
