2. Tyler Simmons

You’d be forgiven for not thinking about Simmons much before the G-Day Game. Even the bank of images we use for this website didn’t have a picture of him. With receivers like Wims, Ridley, Holloman and Hardman taking up all of the attention this spring, it’s easy to get lost on the shuffle.

But Simmons wasn’t lost by Jake Fromm Saturday. He led the red team with five catches for 114 yards with one touchdown. His day started a little rough, after getting the opening catch he fumbled the ball. Then he dropped an easy one.

Simmons then bounced back and stole the show for the Red team. His biggest catch of the game came in the fourth quarter on Fromm’s worst throw of the game. A ball that should have been intercepted fell into Simmons’s hands. He then ran to the end zone for a 70-yard touchdown.

More receivers are coming in the fall to compete for playing time. But if he can continue to have great chemistry with the quarterbacks and get himself open, there’s no reason why Simmons can’t be a major part of Georgia’s offense in 2017.
