1. Terry Godwin

Last week, there were a few stories about Godwin always being the no. 2 receiver. As a freshman in 2015, he was behind Malcolm Mitchell. Last year he was behind Isaiah McKenzie. The writers covering Georgia worried that someone like Wims or Ridley would pass Godwin in 2017.

But with games like Saturday’s, that will be no small feat for any receiver. Godwin led all receivers with five catches for 130 yards. That’s over 25 yards a catch and he accumulated those yards both before and after making the grabs. With his size, that’s exactly the role he will have on this team.

Godwin is a junior now and is the most experienced member of the receiving corps. Saturday, he appeared to have the best chemistry with Eason. He made some catches outside the numbers and a he made some inside the hash marks. A guy who can make catches anywhere in the field is exactly what Eason will need this fall.

Do not be surprised when Godwin goes from perennial no. 2 receiver, to the leading man for Georgia football in 2017.
