Georgia football: Top 10 players from the 2017 G-Day Game
7. Jeremiah Holloman
On to the player I was most excited to watch. Last year, Georgia’s wide receiver group struggled and a big reason why is because they didn’t have a big guy to step up. Javon Wims eventually became that guy. But besides him, the receiving corps is a pretty small group.
Holloman provides much needed size at 6’2, 194 pounds. But what’s size if you don’t have the skills to use it. Well Saturday he used it. The freshman caught three passes for 77 yards, including a 42-yard touchdown catch where he beat the defense by about 10 yards.
That’s exactly what I wanted to see out of Holloman. Sure it was against second string defensive backs. but he didn’t play down to that level. He looked like a guy who’s ready to line up against some of the best DB’s the SEC has to offer.
Holloman may have been with the second group of receivers Saturday, but you should expect big things out of him in 2017.
