Georgia football: Predicting the opening day depth chart after the G-Day Game
Receivers and Tight Ends
The depth chart might not matter so much at tight end much like last year. Georgia is still going to use a lot of two-tight end sets and with how talented the group is, all four guys will probably see the field plenty. But we should still predict who will start and who will come off the bench.
Wide receiver is a position many Georgia fans are curious about. The group struggled last year but they were fairly young and the Bulldogs signed a few great receiver prospects in February. We got to see one of those players (J.J. Holloman) during the G-Day Game and he impressed the crowd that day.
Of course, we are still waiting for Mark Webb, Trey Blount and Matt Landers to enroll in the fall. Depending on how ready they are for the college game, they may end up taking playing time from players like Michael Chigbu and Jayson Stanley.
Mecole Hardman, a sophomore from Smart’s first class who might have found a home at the position. However, players like Terry Godwin and Javon Wims probably aren’t going anywhere.
Because Riley Ridley will be suspended for the start of the season, he will not be on this depth chart.
