The tide started to turn for the Georgia Football team yesterday, when they got a big commitment from CB Chris Smith.

Georgia Football got a big commitment on Monday. Chris Smith, a talented Corner Back from Atlanta made his decision to stay in state and head to Athens. It’s a big signing for the 2018 class which has been hit with a great deal of losses the past few weeks.

After losing their two four star commitments Adam Anderson and Max Wray, still only has three committed players for 2018. After Anderson’s recent flip to LSU, there has been a lot of worrying from UGA fans and not a lot of good news on the 2018 recruiting front. Brenton Cox, a local player many had pegged to go to UGA instead is going to Ohio State and UGA is still yet to get a commitment from a 4-star player.

Don’t let the fact that he’s ‘only’ a 3-star prospect fool you though. Smith is a big win for the Bulldogs. He holds offers from most of the top programs in the Country and had both Alabama and Ohio State pushing very hard to sign him. Smith was also rated as one of the top 5 players at a recent Nike Opening Camp in Atlanta. He was recognized alongside top rated players Jamaree Salyer and Brenton Cox.

Next: Monday Morning Recap

Smith told Rivals reporter Chad Simmons that this past G-day was the decider for him and this is one of the reasons Kirby and Co. were pushing hard to make that day great. Chalk him up as hopefully the first of many who were swayed by that day.
