Look, most people know by now that 2018 is going to be very different to 2017. There’s no chance UGA is able to sign 12 of the states top 20 player this year. They are going to have to go out of state for some players because their needs simply don’t match the states talent this year. But there is always talent in Georgia so who are the players outside the top 10 that UGA could sign?

Kearis Jackson

Probably the #1 target at WR this year, Jackson is a unique prospect. He’s not got ideal size, but he’s quick and strong as an Ox. He throws shot put for his track and feild team as well as running sprints. He’s a really athletic player. He’s trending towards UGA and Kirby Smart is trying to position him as a potential leader for this class.

Kyler McMichael

McMichael is an athlete but he will likely play a a defensive back at the next level. He’s got quick feet and fluid hips so hopefully he fits in at CB. UGA is on the radar right now, but isn’t in the clear lead for the nations #12 athlete right now. They still have a great chance to keep him home this year.

Quay Walker

Walker is an OLB who was all UGA earlier last year. But things seemed to change when his teammate Markavious Bryant went to Auburn and not Athens. Quay’s decision seemed to change greatly then. But Georgia seem to be pushing hard to change that. He is very close to another player on this list Trey Dean and they have said they would like to play together.

Josh Vann

A quick slot receiver, Vann is another quick player that UGA have been pushing for. Georgia are going to try and sign 2-3 of the receivers on this list. All of them are different to the receivers they signed last year. They are smaller, quicker players but all of them play with a toughness that Kirby wants.

Marquiz Ezzard

Ezzard is the biggest of this group of receivers coming in at just under 6-2. He’s the prototype from the 2017 class and he plays nasty. He’s a raw player, but he’s got all the skills to become a standout player at the next level although he might need some time to develop.

Trey Dean

Dean could be the closest thing to a Richard Lecounte in the 2018 class. Dawgnations Jeff Sentell has always said that he’s the kind of guy players want to play with. He’s the first player from his school to have an SEC offer and he has several including Alabama. UGA is pushing hard with him and seems to be in the lead for his signature.

Darnell Jefferies

The only linemen on the list which kind of sums up the issue with UGA this year. Not much talent on the lines but lots of Athletes. Jefferies has been a priority for a while and he’s been a focus for defensive line coach Tray Scott. He’s an exciting player who could be a real difference maker despite his ranking.
