Stop me if you’ve heard this one before. Notre Dame has a QB that its fans think is going to win the Heisman. I know, we heard this last year with DeShone Kizer. We heard it with Everett Golson and Jimmy Clausen as well. Pretty much every QB the Irish have is expected to challenge for college footballs biggest prize. They are one of the most recognizable programs in sports.

In fans defense however, Wimbush looks pretty awesome. The rising Junior has spent two years waiting behind Kizer and he seems to have learned a few things. He has a huge amount of natural athleticism and looks a danger whenever he leaves the pocket. He also looked very comfortable throwing the ball during the spring game.

Now granted, fans often get over-hyped on players. There are plenty of UGA fans who think Jake Fromm is going to do the same thing and he’s a freshman who isn’t even the starter. But Wimbush is a really talented player who could throw a spanner in UGA’s season with a big game that night. If there was ever a time for a player to launch himself on the national stage, Week 2 for the young QB would be it.
