Georgia Football: How are Notre Dame looking this spring?

Their vulnerable defense looks improved:

Last years defense had some issues. While they had some games against the likes of NC State and Stanford where they held up, they had others against Texas and USC where they got torn apart.

As mentioned before, Mike Elko has been brought in to fix those issues and he certainly has the pedigree. He also has the players because it’s not as if Notre Dame isn’t recruiting well. It’s Notre Dame, that school gets players. They have talented defensive ends and linebackers and their secondary should be improved from last year.

Where they could have issues is their interior defensive line. That was a key area of  weakness for the Irish in 2016 and they haven’t added much to improve that area. Running the ball is something UGA desperately wants to do better this year, but will they be able to dominate the middle of the line? They couldn’t last year so that makes for a fascinating battle for both teams.
