OLB Quay Walker made a surprising decision this weekend. He removed UGA from his top 5 and replaced it with South Carolina. This was a very surprising development to a lot of experts. UGA was considered to be his leader for a long time.

It’s a blow for the staff for sure, Walker is an exciting prospect. However one of the most interesting results from this was how some leaders in the 2017 class reacted. Early enrollee Richard Lecounte III, one of the leaders of the 2017 class tweeted the following in reply to Walker:

Later on, Tray Bishop, Malik Herring and Nate McBride all tweeted out statements that could be seen as shots at this current 2018 class. There certainly seems to be a feeling among the 2017 group that the 2018 in state players are letting the side down a bit.

While it’s never good for a team to miss out on recruits, count me in for this sort of attitude from Lecounte. I love that the 2017 class are already creating chips for their shoulders. Quite possibly the best recruiting class in UGA history is already taking things personally. They’re already finding ways to get angry and to me, that’s a good sign for what this class can do.
