Another one of our very own Georgia Bulldogs is set to join the most popular Saturday morning college football pregame show in the world, ESPN’s College Gameday . According the reports by the Big Lead, Maria Taylor is set to take over for Samantha Ponder who left for a job with NFL Countdown on Sundays.

Maria was a volleyball superstar during her days at UGA . She also played basketball for the Lady Dawgs during her time here. She went on to a successful career in sports broadcasting and is most well known  for her time alongside Paul Finebaum, Tim Tebow and Marcus Spears as co host of the SEC’S version of College Gameday, SEC nation.

Taylor will join former UGA football defensive standout David Pollack as part of the College Gameday crew. It’ll be interesting to see if this move means that we see Gameday in Athens this year. Granted the biggest thing that is going to mean ESPN sends their prime program down to Georgia is UGA being relevant. But if they are able to create some big showdowns, it would be awesome to see some more dawgs lead the program to Athens.
