3. Ohio State Buckeyes

Few teams have the storied history and rich tradition of winning as

the

Ohio State Buckeyes. They claim eight National Championships in six different decades just to show you how consistent they’ve been over the years.

Their first National Championship came when they shared the title with Georgia. Cleveland Browns and Cincinnati Bengals founder Paul Brown was their head coach. Woody Hayes led the program to five championships between 1954 and 1970. Tim Tressel led the program to a BCS Title in 2002 and Urban Meyer led them to a win in the first ever College Football Playoffs.

But despite their history and crossing paths with Georgia in 1942, the Bulldogs and Buckeyes have only met once. That was in 1993 when they played each other in the Citrus Bowl. Garrison Hearst was nearly unstoppable that day and Georgia defeated a Kirk Herbstreit led Buckeyes team 21-14.

Unfortunately, the two squads haven’t met since and a planned home-and-home in 2020 and 2021 was cancelled by Ohio State.
