Georgia Baseball continues it’s hot streak as it ends its season playing its best baseball of the year.

The red hot Georgia Baseball team earned an SEC Tournament berth after beating South Carolina this weekend. This young Dawgs team is peaking at the right time, and could be a tough out in the SEC Tourney this week.

Game 1

Georgia used a quick start to win game 1 6-3. A 4 run second inning lead to this victory.

Wil Crowe pitched well for the Gamecocks but would get the loss. He threw 6.2 innings, gave up 4 runs, and struck out 9. Carlos Cortez had a solid day at the plate going 2-4 with a run scored.

Andrew Gist had a great game for UGA.  He threw 8 innings, giving up only three hits and a run. Cam Sheppard went 3-5 with an RBI.

Game 2

Another solid pitching performance for the Dawgs a 5-4 win.

Adam Hill took the loss for South Carolina. He had a tough outing giving up 3 runs in just 4.1 innings. Carlos Cortez was once again a tough out going 2-3.

Kevin Smith has made his presence felt since being inserted into the starting rotation. He got the win for the Dawgs by throwing 5 innings and giving up only 2 runs.  Keegan McGovern went 1-4 but had 4 huge RBIs.

Game 3

South Carolina dominated UGA 10-0. There’s not too much to talk about in this one but I’ll throw in some stats.

Colie Bowers got the win in relief throwing 2.2 innings of 1 hit baseball. Jonah Bride went 3-5 with 3 runs scored. Tony Locey got the loss for UGA throwing 2.2 innings and giving up 3 runs.
