2. Most rushing yards by a senior

This one is very possible mainly because Georgia hasn’t had many great senior running backs. Only two running backs in school history have rushed for 1,000 yards in their senior season. The two being Willie McClendon (1,312) and Lars Tate (1,016). Robert Edwards reached 908 yards in 1997 but no one else has passed 800 yards as a senior.

Other great backs; Herschel Walker, Garrison Hearst, Rodney Hampton, Musa Smith, Knowshon Moreno and Todd Gurley all left before their senior seasons.

This opens the door for both Nick Chubb and Sony Michel to pass McClendon’s 1,312 yards in 2017. I definitely think they’ll both pass Tate’s 1,016 yards and get to at least second and third in school history.

Chubb might be more likely to pass McClendon because of he averages more per game in his career and he has seven games with over 150 yards. But don’t put anything past Michel, especially if the offensive line improves a ton before the season begins.
