Ah now this would be more like it. Perhaps it’s time that the UGA athletic department started to actually use its resources? Georgia has a lot of the things necessary to make it a powerhouse program. It plays in the nations #1 baseball conference. It takes on the biggest teams every year. As mentioned earlier, Georgia and the surrounding states are a hotbed for talent.

If the athletic department promised to commit to the program in the same way that have since Kirby Smart arrived for football, they would have a real shot at bringing in a top coach. Who might that be? Well they’re unlikely to flip any of the current top SEC coaches who already have similar advantages and winning cultures.

Someone like Josh Holliday, the Head Coach at Oklahoma State stands out to me as someone UGA could push to bring in. It would take a lot. He’s built a program that did incredibly well his first 4 years, finishing either 1st or 2nd in the Big 12. 2017 was a down year for the program and there’s the possibility UGA could sweep in and poach him although it would take some serious commitments.
