Unfortunately, based off recent postings, it looks like we’re going have scenario #1. Stricklin will likely coach the dawgs again in 2018. As I said earlier, although this might be disappointing for fans, it does make the most sense. Stricklin has 2 more years left on his contract and he did achieve success before UGA. The dawgs are probably right to see if he can turn things around and prove himself in one final year.

That is going to make for what is likely going to be a fascinating baseball season one way or another in 2018. When a coach is under this much pressure to win, the team either goes one of two ways. They could rise to the top or the crumble to the bottom. As bad as this season looked at times, 2018 could end up being an awful lot worse if the players feel the heat on their head coach.

Either way, it’s probably going to take one more season of waiting before we have any idea what direction UGA baseball is going to go in the future. That’s frustrating for fans who feel like they have spent the past 4 years waiting. Unfortunately, patience is not something that comes easily to a fanbase that is becoming increasingly sick of losing. Nor should it.
