9. 1930’s (59-35-7)

After the greatness of the teen’s and twenties, the thirties were somewhat of a letdown for Georgia football. In the teen’s Georgia had six seasons with two or fewer losses. In the twenties, Georgia had an undefeated season, one conference title and two national titles (one claimed, one unclaimed).

In the thirties, Georgia dipped slightly. But the thirties were still much better than the 1890’s, 1900’s and 1950’s so it easily makes it on to this list at the no. 9 spot.

That’s not to say that the 1930’s was a bad decade for Georgia however, hat decade just doesn’t have the same reputation that the teens and twenties have.

Georgia never won a championship but they came close twice. In 1931 Georgia finished 6-1 in the Southern Conference. Their only SoCon loss came to Tulane who won the conference that year with a 8-0 SoCon record.

Then in 1933, a 14-6 loss to Auburn kept Georgia from winning the SEC in the conference’s first season.

Still, the thirties were good to Georgia, but their were much better decades as we’ll see on this countdown.
